Asphalt 8: Airborne is now free for iOS, Android

One of the best mobile racing games to come around in a while is now free.

Gameloft has announced that Asphalt 8: Airborne is now free for iOS and Android. The game was earlier priced at Rs 55.

The free-to-play update also coincides with the release of the game’s first content update, which includes a new car, the Renault Clio RS, and new cars will be added and retired constantly, so it would be a good idea to keep checking back.

Also new are limited-time cups, that reward you with credits and upgrades, and multiplayer tweaks, including faster matchmaking and a new series with reverse track layouts.

Unlike other recent high profile mobile racing games like Real Racing 3, 2K Drive, and Colin McRae Rally, the Asphalt series features over-the-top arcade gameplay, and Asphalt 8 has been hailed as one of the best entries in the series – it currently holds an impressive Metacritic rating of 91.
