Atari withdraws from next months E3

Just three weeks ahead of the girls-and-all return of E3, publisher Atari has made a surprise withdrawal from the event.

[We’ve taken a] proactive decision to attend but not exhibit at this year’s E3 event,” an Atari spokesperson told Joystiq. [We are] currently focused on other selling and marketing initiatives for Ghostbusters, Champions Online and other to be announced titles.”

The move, coupled with recent shock news that Sony will be publishing the now time-limited PS3, PS2 and PSP exclusive Ghostbusters, is leading many to ask what the future may bring for Atari.
