Bethesda issues legal warning to Minecraft dev

Bethesda lawyers have sent a cease and desist letter to Markus ‘Notch’ Persson over the naming of Mojang Specifications’ upcoming title Scrolls,Persson has claimed via Twitter.

The action presumably relates to the ‘Elder Scrolls’ franchise name of Bethesda’s fantasy RPG series, of which the upcoming Skyrim is the latest installment.

"Just got a letter from Bethesta’s lawyers," Persson writes."They claim ‘Scrolls’ infringes on their trademark and everyone will confuse it with Skyrim."

Persson’s yet-to-be released game, only the second from his studio that is best known for the sandbox mega-hit Minecraft, is a turn-based digital fantasy card game.
