Big names to star in awards video

Top execs from all over the market are to star in the kick-off video for this year’s MCV Awards.

Names are staying secret until the big night, but various staff and senior management from Nintendo, Xbox, Disney, EA, Activision, GAME, Ubisoft, CHIPS, Gamestation, Bethesda, Atari and Codemasters all feature.

Last year’s video can be seen here.

It featured a pub called the MCV Arms and celebrated the games industry’s past and fraternal nature.

"This year we know we have to come up with something special too," said MCV publisher Stuart Dinsey. "It has an uplifting message, about how we must all keep on moving forward through a tough economic period."

The 2009 awards video will debut in front of 550 guests at the 2009 MCV Industry Excellence Awards on Thursday April 23rd at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London.

It will then be posted here the next day, for all to, er, enjoy.
