Blade Runner 2049 gets a mobile game spin-off

Finnish publisher and developer Next Games has landed the rights for a mobile game based on upcoming sci-fi movie Blade Runner 2049.

The game comes as a result of a direct partnership with Blade Runner 2049 production company Alcon Entertainment. Details about the nature of the title have not yet been revealed.

The Blade Runner 2049 movie is a sequel to the beloved 1982 movie Blade Runner, which was directed by Ridley Scott. It was loosely based on Philip K Dick’s novel Do Android Dream of Electric Sheep? 2049 sees Scott acting as executive producer, with Denis Villeneuve directing and Ryan Gosling starring. Original Blade Runner star Harrison Ford also returns, reprising the role of Rick Deckard.

The film is due out in October.
