Retailer Blockbuster has announced that it will continue to honour gift cards and store credit despite slipping into administration this afternoon.
This means gamers who have amassed credit at the store following its increased focus on trade-ins over recent months are not yet being left out of pocket.
It will also allow Blockbuster to try and shift the huge mountains of stock it is reportedly sitting on.
The move reflects poorly on HMV, whose decision to block gift cards and credit having entered administration yesterday has angered consumers – such as granddad Eric Nolan.
