Brazilian duo skip FIFA 16, agree to PES 2016 exclusivity

EA’s FIFA series may continue to boss the genre when it comes to licenses, but Konami can at least celebrate another licensing victory for its latest title.

IBTimes reports that Brazilian club duo Flamengo and Corinthians have signed up to appear exclusively in PES 2016 and will be completely absent from FIFA 16.

EA announced ahead of the release of last year’s FIFA 15 that it had failed to reach an agreement with the Brazilian league to feature domestic teams from the country. It’s not clear whether that is still the case this year, although this latest news suggests that could very much be the case.

Konami has already secured the UEFA Champions League license for its title.

The publisher also today announced that a playable PES 2016 demo will be released on August 13th.

PES 2016 will be released on September 18th and FIFA 16 on September 25th.
