Bungie drops more new Halo hints

Fanboys around the world howled in horror last July when Bungie stated that the upcoming Halo: Reach may be the last game in the series it ever creates – but now the studio has dropped yet more hints that it’s love affair with Master Chief and friends is likely to carry on for some time yet.

You know, it might be premature to say we’ll never ever, ever make a Halo game again,” Bungie’s community and PR director Brian Jarrard told CVG.

We sort of have a little special place for Halo in our hearts. But for the foreseeable future, Halo Reach is it. If we don’t ever come back to Halo again, we better damn well make sure that our last game is the best one ever. Let’s set that bar really high and at least leave our fans something really special.”

The comments echo those made by Jarrard in August:

I think there’s a lot of work just to get Reach done between now and next fall. At that point anything’s possible. We’re going to keep looking at making the games we want to make. Maybe that’s Halo. Maybe it’s not. We’ll have to wait and see.”
