Bungie’s AR mini game hints at Destiny reveal

A new augmented reality mini-game on Bungie’s website hints at a reveal of the studio’s as-yet-unannounced project codenamed Destiny.

The AR game supposedly features seven puzzles – one a day – with a possible unveiling of Destiny on the coming Monday.

Destiny is expected to be a social sci-fi game set to span across several games on next-gen consoles and PC. The first game is rumoured to be a timed exclusive on Xbox – whether Xbox 360 or the new Xbox is unclear – with it set to arrive on PC and PlayStation later.

The creators of Halo have been working on their new IP, to be published by Activision, for a while now, and even if this new viral marketing initiative doesn’t end in a reveal, Bungie is set to talk a bit about the new IP at GDC in March.

Bungie’s Joe Staten and Christopher Barrett will deliver a presentation titled Brave New World: New Bungie IP”, where the audience will get a glimpse of the brave new world that has been built, a place where the next ten years of great Bungie adventures will unfold.”
