Call of Duty Elite beta is live on PS3

The beta for Activision’s Call of Duty: Elite service is now live on PS3.

Access to the scheme will be rolled out in stages on a by-invitation basis. The COD Elite beta went live on Xbox 360 in July. A date has not yet been announced for the PC beta.

Elite’s features include stat tracking, media sharing and competitive online competitions. The full-blooded version of the service will cost 34.99 a year, though access will be free to all COD players.

The new beta is the latest step toward what will inevitably be the blockbuster global release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on November 8th.
