Chinese Room’s Dan Pinchbeck picks up British Writers’ Guild Award for Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture

The writer of PS4 exclusive Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture picked up the games writing prize at the British Writers’ Guild last night.

Dan Pinchbeck of UK studio The Chinese Room beat out competition from murder mystery game Her Story and Failbetter Games’ Sunless Sea.

The first person title is devoid of guns or fighting, and sees a player walk around a deserted English village where all the inhabitants have mysteriously vanished. Players must explore the area to discover what exactly happened.

The British Writers’ Guild also awarded former Doctor Who scribe and showrunner Russell T Davis with its outstanding contribution prize. This has no connection with video games, but we do love Doctor Who.

More winners are through here.
