CompLexity become third team this week to eject from Overwatch pro scene

CompLexity gaming have announced that they’ll be exiting the competitive Overwatch scene, citing issues with Overwatch’s “current transitional phase.”

CompLexity are the third organisation to eject from the Overwatch scene in the past week, with TSM and Red Reserve both claiming that uncertainty over the game’s competitive future as the reason for the dissolution of their Overwatch teams.

The team’s players Jake ‘TorkTJO’ Lepoff, Nicolas ‘NicolasTJO’ Aubin, Joe ‘Joemeister’ Gramano, and Mihail ‘Meza’ Păunescu will all depart the organisation and remain in Overwatch as free agents, while Jackson ‘Shake’ Kaplan will continue to be part of Complexity for the time being.

“Anticipation of Blizzard’s upcoming Overwatch League and an uptick in mainstream esports attention means that now more than ever, we have to be confident we’re making the best investments in each game,” Said CompLexity’s general manager Kyle Bautista in a canned statement. “The decision to part ways with long-term members of our organization is never one that we take lightly, but ongoing roster instability has resulted in inconsistent performances in an already narrow field of events.”

CompLexity’s Overwatch team competed in a variety of online and offline events but had failed to make an impact at large events. CompLexity hasn’t ruled out a return to Overwatch later, but have claimed they need first to work out the best way to tackle Overwatch’s “fluid ecosystem.”
