Anderson confirms he’ll direct next Resident Evil movie

Paul WS Anderson will be behind the camera for the next Resident Evil movie, he told MCV.

The man is the writer and producer for all four Resident Evils, and directed the first and fourth film in the franchise.

He told MCV: "I will be directing and we start shooting in nine weeks.

"I am the biggest fan of Resident Evil. It is a glorious game franchise, it has been a really great movie franchise. And I am happy to have been involved in the world of Resident, since the start of playing the game until now, 12 or 13 years. It has been a great trip so far and the journey continues."

The film is due on September 14th, 2012.

Paul WS Anderson has just completed post-production on The Three Musketeers. The swash-buckling movie doesn’t have anything to do with games, but is due this October for fans of the director.

The film once again stars Milla Jovovich (who also happens to be married to Anderson) in the lead role as Alice.

For our full interview with Paul WS Anderson, stay tuned to MCV later this week.
