BioWare "getting ready to develop new Mass Effect game"

Regardless of whether your Shepard lived to tell another tale at the end of Mass Effect 3, don’t expect your favourite gender-hopping space hero to return in the next game.

That’s because BioWare has said it plans to tell a completely different story in the next Mass Effect game – which, incidentally, is rapidly approaching development.

"We are starting to get ready to develop another Mass Effect game, and it’s going to be a new thing," the series’ executive producer Casey Hudson explained at a Mass Effect retrospective at PAX East in Boston, as reported by Kotaku.

"We want to be able to give fans an opportunity to get back into the world with these things you’ve come to know and love about the Mass Effect experience but start something fresh and new – a new way for you to explore the whole universe in Mass Effect."

It was also revealed that it will be developed at BioWare’s Montreal studio with some production duties being handled by Hudson from the studio’s Edmonton HQ.
