Call of Duty: Future Warfare

Call of Duty: Future Warfare, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Space Warfare or Call of Duty: Secret Warfare – any of these could well be the name of the next instalment in the famed FPS series.

Why? Because, as spotted by Superannuation, each of these names has now been registered as web domains by publisher Activision.

A sci-fi themed outing for the Call of Duty series has been an ongoing rumour for several years now, with many at Infinity Ward known to be keen on taking the series into new territory.

Considering the recent upheaval at Infinity Ward, it’s not inconceivable that Activision may finally be bowing to pressure and allowing the studio to act out its long-term desire.

It’s also possible, too, that Sledgehammer’s still mysterious ‘action-adventure’ Call of Duty title could pick up the sci-fi baton. Or perhaps it’s nothing more than Activision covering its bases.

What do you think, readers?
