DC Universe Online dated

Sony Online Entertainment’s licensed superhero MMO DC Universe Online is set for release on PS3 and PC this November.

That’s according to IGN, which claims that the details will be revealed at E3 later this month.

At the dawn of the current generation of machines, many felt that we were at last on the cusp of MMOs finally arriving on home consoles. And while the likes of Final Fantasy XI and Phantasy Star Universe have made it to market, the genre continues to stumble outside of the PC sector.

2010 could finally be the year, however, with DS Universe hopefully set to be joined by the likes of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV and SOE pair The Agency and Free Realms at some point in the future.

And while the console aspirations of Champions Online appear to be over, there’s still hope that Realtime Worlds’ APB could make the move to console.
