Dead Space 2 merchandise revealed

A new range of Dead Space merchandise is rolling out to make the franchise even bigger.

EA is launching novel Dead Space Martyr, Blu-ray and DVD animated movie Dead Space Aftermath and comic Dead Space Salvage early next year to support the upcoming sequel to 2008’s third-person action shooter.

These are the result of deals with Titan Books, Starz Media and IDW Publishing respectively.

The first title was similarly supported by animated film Dead Space: Downfall, a series of graphics novels, t-shirts, CDs and more.

Dead Space is a successful franchise and is one that is growing,” EA’s product manager Kevin Flynn told MCV.

It is a great example of how games are broadening out these days into other entertainment channels. Dead Space is something that lives successfully outside of games and it’s great to be at the forefront of that.”

EA believes Dead Space 2 can build on the success of the first title when it hits shelves on January 28th.
