Doom 3 BFG Edition dated for October

An enhanced re-release of Doom 3 is heading to consoles and PC, Bethesda has announced.

Dubbed the ‘BFG Edition’, the game will offer Doom 3 along with expansions Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Mission. The edition also packs the original Doom and Doom 2.

The enhancements include 3D optimization, 5.1 surround sound, achievements, improved rendering/lighting, a new checkpoint system, and a new armor-mounted flashlight.

Doom 3 BFG Edition is slated for an October 16th release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The console versions will run $40, while the PC release goes for $30.
