Extra 6,000 flock to EG Expo

The 2010 Eurogamer Expo saw record attendance this year, with 20,000 visitors flocking to London’s Earls Court for the show.

Queues started forming at 2am on Friday, October 1st – with hundreds of consumers anxious to try the latest games. The event came to a close on Sunday, October 3rd.

Attendance was up 6,000 year-on-year following last year’s 14,000 visitors at The Royal Armouries in Leeds and Old Billingsgate in London. Tickets cost 8.

Eurogamer MD Rupert Loman told MCV: We are very pleased with the way this year’s Eurogamer Expo went – it was an overwhelming success and we’ve had incredible feedback from the community.

It is now undoubtedly the UK’s largest and most credible video games event, and was more than twice the size of last year’s. We’ll be announcing next year’s date and venue soon.”

Gamers had the opportunity to try upcoming titles for the first time including Dragon Age II, LittleBigPlanet 2, Gears of War 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Developer sessions saw the likes of Peter Molyneux and Sonic co-creator Yuji Naka demo their new games to the public.
