Guitar Hero 6 and DJ Hero 2 due Q4

After posting a rise in profit, Activision has confirmed that Guitar Hero 6 will be released this autumn followed by DJ Hero 2.

The announcements come alongside the publisher’s new plans to cut the amount of music games in the future, emphasising fewer titles with greater quality.

In a conference call, publishing CEO Mike Griffith said: Fewer SKUs will service a broader audience.

In 2009 we released 25 music SKUs but in 2010 we plan to release less than 10."

Activision Blizzard’s CEO Bobby Kotick added: Guitar Hero remains the leader in the music category with more than 44 million games sold to date.”

The publisher also confirmed both Guitar Hero 6 and DJ Hero 2 will get a series of DLC packs following their release.
