Halo 4 to skip public beta

In a departure from Bungie’s development strategy for Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, 343 Industrieswill forgo a public multiplayer beta for the latest in the popular FPS franchise.

"While we are testing Halo 4 code, gameplay, and systems at significant scale to get excellent data, input, and feedback, we are focused on polishing and shipping our experience for the duration of the year, and splitting resources to manage and build a beta is not on our schedule," a 343 Industries rep explained, responding to a fan inquiry.

The eighth installment in the series is intended to kick off a new trilogy of Halo series games entitled the ‘Reclaimer Trilogy’, with the first picking up after the ending of Halo 3 (marking the return of Master Chief as the main protagonist).

Halo 4 is currently slated for a holiday release this year.
