Johann Sebastian Joust’s Sportsfriends closes in on Kickstarter target

Squeaky bums time. Sportsfriends is just $5,000 off its $150k Kickstarter funding goal with just 11 hours to go.

It’s a fantastic turnaround for the project, which includes indie favourite PlayStation Move game Johann Sebastian Joust.

Just 20 hours to go. We’re over 85 per cent of the way there, but we still need $20k more. If you can help out and/or tell your friends, now is the time,” the game’s team said late last night.

Meanwhile, the games community has enthusiastically rallied to our cause, raising existing pledges, spreading the word, and championing the games. We’re honoured and humbled.

One of our main goals with Sportsfriends was to provide a rallying call for the development of local multiplayer games – to show the world that, yes, it’s still worth developing those kinds of games.”

The late surge in support for the title owes much to the very vocal support of a handful of games journalists, particularly in the US. We presume said individuals won’t be tasked with reviewing the final release.
