E3 08: New game helps flesh out 'best ever' downloadable line up that includes new Bizarre-developed Geometry Wars game

Kuju’s Doublesix developing new South Park XBLA game

A South Park game developed by UK-based Doublesix in collaboration with the creators of the cartoon will arrive on Xbox Live Arcade next year.

Announced by Microsoft during its E3 press conference, little else is known about the game except its inspiration material – the adult, sometimes controversial cartoon – and developer.

Microsoft heralded a range of new games for Xbox Live Arcade at its E3 event – other key games named were a sequel to Geometry Wars was in development for the platform, and was in development at original developer Bizarre Creations. (Recent handheld and Wii versions were, conversely, handled by Doublesix earlier this year.)

Meanwhile, the ‘first true sequel” to arcade classic Galaga was also shown off. The game is being created by the team at Namco Bandai which recently revamped Pac-Man for XBLA.
