Liberty City Episodes delayed

The release of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City on PS3 and PC has been delayed by two weeks from March 30th to April 16th.

Rockstar said on its blog that a last minute change was made by Sony to edit in-game content, including the Liberty City radio station, television and Internet.

A spokesperson at Rockstar said: Unfortunately, with each round of changes comes full re-tests of the game and a re-submission to PlayStation.

If we could expedite the turnaround any sooner, we would. We are dying to get this game in the hands of fans who’ve waited for it for so long in the first place.”

Despite the content being tweaked specifically for PS3 release in Europe, American retailers and PC gamers will also have to wait. The developer claims a simultaneous release will allow players to be on a level playing field.

The news echoes Sony’s delay of LittleBigPlanet in October 2008, where a soundtrack was removed because it contained lyrics from the Qur’an.
