Limited Edition 20th Anniversary PS4 sells out in America

The limited edition grey PlayStation 4 has sold out in the US.

The console, released to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the PlayStation, was limited to a production run of just 12,300 units worldwide. But within minutes of going on sale in North America, the hardware sold out in that region.

The USPlayStation storenow carries the message: "We appreciate your interest, but we will have no more inventory. Apologies for the inconvenience."

When and how the console is going to be made available outside of America is yet to be detailed.

The hardware is due to set back UK consumers 399. As well as the console itself, the bundle comes with a PSOne-themed DualShock 4 and PlayStation Camera.

The console was just one way in which PlayStation was celebrating its 20th Anniversary. The platform holder held the PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas, where it revealed a plethora of new video games at a keynote presentation.
