Microsoft to roll out Xbox 360 backwards-compatibility for Xbox One next month

Microsoft will publicly roll out its Xbox 360 backwards-compatibility update for Xbox One on November 12th.

The update, which has been available to preview members for some time now, allows a selection of 360 titles to be downloaded and played on Microsoft’s newer hardware. The functionality was one of the company’s big E3 announcements in the summer.

Compatible titles include Halo 3, Mass Effect, Borderlands, Shadowrun, Gears of War, Shadow Complex and Alan Wake. The most recent title confirmed for the service is Burnout Paradise.

Also arriving on November 12th is Xbox One’s brand new Windows 10 friendly UI, bringing with it the Siri-like Cortana app.
