GAMEFEST 08: XNA general manager becomes CTO of MS' Interactive Entertainment Business

Microsoft’s Satchell gets promotion

XNA general manager Chris Satchell has been promoted to chief technical officer of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business, according to Edge-Online.

Previously head of the Microsoft developer’s group, Satchell is best known outside the company as the firm’s main XNA evangelist, presenting keynotes at a wide range of conferences and championing the cause of not only user-generated content but also user-created games.

In his new role he’ll work closely with Shane Kim, recently promoted to VP of strategy and business development, and Don Mattrick, senior VP of IEB.
