Expected next spring but no confirmed release date

Minecraft XBLA pushed back to 2012

The Xbox Live Arcade port indie hit Minecraft has been delayed untill Spring 2012, an XBLA producer at Microsoft Studios has announced.

“Minecraft for Xbox 360 will launch in Spring 2012. No dates yet. Don’t expect to hear a date until next year,” Microsoft games producer Stuart Platt said on twitter.

The port was announced back in June and is being developed by Dundee-based 4J Studios.

The Studio has previously produced the PS3 versions of Oblivion and Overlord: Raising Hell, whilst also porting Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark to XBLA.

Minecraft for Xbox 360 will be showcased at next month’s Minecon in Las Vegas.
