New Sega Rally announced

Sega has revealed that it will release a brand new title in the iconic Sega Rally series in 2011.

Called Sega Rally Online Arcade, the HD title will be released in digital form only on both Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

It includes both single player Championship and Time Attack modes, both of which will include deep online integration, as well as ‘net enabled online multiplayer. 13 cars are included as well as what is being called "a brand new achievement system".

We’ve blended our hit arcade racing series with the best elements from the console versions to bring our fans the Sega Rally experience in compact, downloadable format,” Sega’s VP of digital business Haruki Satomi stated.

Whether they’re new to the Sega Rally series or they’ve participated in countless races over the years, we’re confident everyone will enjoy the wide variety of features included in this fan favourite.”

Sega Rally first debuted in 1995 in the form of the AM5-developed arcade game. It was later converted onto a number of formats including a wonderful port on Sega’s own Saturn system.
