Audio middleware now available for XBLA, PSN, WiiWare games

New Wwise licensing model for smaller titles

Canadian tool developer Audiokinetic has created a special licensing deal for Wwise, its ‘complete audio pipeline solution’, aimed at developers working on small titles.

Games developed for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network or WiiWare will be eligible to use Wwise for a fixed per-game fee or on a per-transaction basis, with a specific support program also available for an annual fee.

“Wwise is being adopted as the standard for audio production in the industry,” said Geneviève Laberge, Audiokinetic’s sales and services manager.

“Game developers want to improve users’ game experience with their titles. However they are faced with numerous constraints among them small budgets. The robust workflow offered by Wwise allows small teams to achieve their objectives quickly while benefiting from a rich feature set.”
