Nintendo details Wii U’s digital launch line-up

Trine 2, Nano Assault Neo, Little Inferno, Chasing Aurora and Puddle will front Nintendo’s eShop offerings when the Wii U launches in the UK at midnight.

Also available to download is a demo for EA’s FIFA 13, as well as many of the launch titles that can also be purchased at retail such as New Super Mario Bros U, Nintendo Land and ZombiU.

Another requirement for those wishing to get the most out of their new console is a sizable system update which Satoru Iwata himself has apologised for.

Functions added via the patch include Miiverse, Wii U Chat, the internet browser and Nintendo’s eShop, which itself provides access to aps such as Netflix and Uplay.

In order to perform a System Update the Wii U console needs to be connected to the internet,” the official blurb explains. Due to the amount of new features and applications included, the System Update may take an extended amount of time when performed during the initial setup (for some users it could take an hour or more to download and install).

During this time the Wii U console must not be turned off.”

Once updated gamers will also be able to transfer content from their Wii to their Wii U.
