Nintendo expands Virtual Console

Nintendo has expanded the Virtual Console on its Nintendo Wii today, adding new arcade services to the platform.

Explained Satoru Iwata: "Initailly six classic arcade games will be available in Japan and four in America, Europe and elsewhere. And more and more are coming to the Virutal Console line-up."

Space Harrier and others are available now with Space Invaders and other iconic titles on the way.

Nintendo also confirmed that a brand new Final Fantasy is heading to the platform – as well as confirming a WiiWare sequel to FF: Life as a King.
