Nintendo prepping mobile demos for first party games – report

Nintendo is reportedly readying a push onto mobile devices, but it doesn’t appear to be the full experience many are looking for.

Japanese outlet Nikkei reports Nintendo plans on launching a mobile initiative this year – one that will market its console games by releasing free mini game” downloads and video content onto smartphones (and, presumably, tablets).

The report states the free demo offerings are intended specifically to hook players and convince them to purchase full games on Nintendo hardware.

It’s unclear if Wii U’s library will be the only source of material, or if the 3DS is also being considered. Perhaps we’ll soon have an answer, as details on the initiative are expected to further surface during the company’s investor briefing later this week.
