Sega says 2015 Sonic game won’t be multi-platform

Sega has shot down rumours that its next Nintendo-exclusive Sonic title will go multi-format.

The publisher’s community manager Kellie Parker took to the Sega forums and said thatthe information from Nuremburg Toy Fair – which stated that 2015’s Sonic game would be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U – was incorrect.

This information was the result of a picture of Sega’s release plans for Sonic over the next few years from the event, listing a new 2015 title TBA” with PS4 and Xbox One as supported formats, on top of the Wii U.

This information was put up by merchandise firm Jazwares, and apparently omitted the third Nintendo-exclusive Sonic title – part of a deal between Sega and Nintendo.

The first two games that appeared as a part of this deal were last year’s Sonic: Lost World and Mario and Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Games.
