ShopTo cuts pack time to five minutes

ShopTo.net has invested 750,000 in a new five-minute dispatch system.

Consumers who buy specific titles from the online games retailer – such as FIFA 11 – will get their items packed in less than five minutes and sent out on the same day.

Orders placed after 5:30pm will be sent the next day.

The firm hopes to have up to 800 SKUs available on Fast Dispatch within a month.

ShopTo says the investment has gone into improving warehouse technology that will help automate and speed up the processing of orders.

The new machinery is actually working even more efficiently than anticipated, with most orders picked and packed in just over a minute,” ShopTo CEO Igor Cipolletta told MCV.

A lot of our customers like us because we care about the delivery side of the business, and they know they can order right up to 5:30pm and receive their goods the next day.”
