Team Ico bundle for PS3?

If internet chatter this morning is to be believed, cult PS2 classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are both undergoing some sort of hi-def revision and are heading for a release on PS3.

The Sixth Axis reports that the SKU, going under the name of The Team Ico Bundle, will be released on Sony’s machine in Q1 2011.

If true, it’s likely that the games will undergo similar treatment to that experienced by both God of War and God of War II. SCEA’s action titles were given a significant visual overhaul and added trophy support for their arrival on Blu-ray earlier this year.

Though re-releases for Ico and Shadow of the Colossus would be welcomed with rapturous ovation from dedicated gaming fans, both titles are famed to failing to match their design brilliance with strong performances at retail.

Whether the PS3 can deliver where the PS2 did not is a big question.

Team Ico currently has another game in development for Sony’s console – the beautiful looking The Last Guardian.
