Upgrade from PS3 to PS4 versions of games for $10

Yesterday at Gamescom, Sony announced that you’ll be able to upgrade from the PS3 versions of certain games to the PS4 versions for a heavily discounted price.

Activision has put that price at $10, which is today around Rs 640. There’s no telling what it might be tomorrow.

PS3 owners of Call of Duty: Ghosts will be able to upgrade to the PS4 version of the game for $10 in the US, and 10 euros and 10 pounds in Europe and the UK respectively.

This offer will only apply for a limited time, so you can probably only benefit from this discount during the launch window.

Sony announced that this upgrade program will apply across several games, including Battlefield 4, Assassin’s Creed IV and Watch Dogs, and is partnering with publishers like EA, Activision, Ubisoft and Warner Bros for other games as well.

We assume this offer will entitle customers to digital versions of the PS4 games rather than physical copies, but Sony hasn’t issued a clarification on the matter. In the US, retailers GameStop and Amazon are offering similar upgrades for Xbox One games.
