Virgin Gaming ups prize fund to £2.6m

A whopping €3m (2.6m) in prizes can be won by Virgin Gaming members this year.

It’s a huge increase over the tournament firm’s first year, where $1m (620,000) in prizes was on offer.

The company says key to its ability to increase the prize fund is its new Series Tournaments. These will be available next week, and allows Virgin Gaming members to enter a tournament at any time, play as many matches as they like and leave and come back to finish it later.

Tournaments will start and end sooner and more often.

"We’re always listening to our members, and one thing we kept hearing was they wanted more frequent tournaments for larger prize pools,"said Virgin Gaming co-founder Zachary Zeldin.

We can’t wait for members to try this new tournament; it’s going to let us host more games and accommodate our unrivalled prize pools.”
