Warren Spector: ‘I desperately want to bring Epic Mickey to 360, PS3’

Epic Mickey creator Warren Spector hopes the original Wii adventure will head to HD consoles ahead of its musical sequel.

The Wii game has sold millions of copies worldwide to date since its November 2010 release.

With follow-up Disney Epic Mickey 2: Power of Two confirmed as a multiformat release for Wii as well as Xbox 360 and PS3, Spector says he also wants the latter consoles to receive the original.

I will tell you I desperately want to do it, and other than that I have no comment at this time," he told Game Informer. I just think it would be cool for people to see where the story started, so we’ll see.

"We sold many millions of copies [of Epic Mickey] on just the Wii, and being on the Wii was great. It was a perfect way to reintroduce Mickey as a hero in video games.”

Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion was also recently confirmed for 3DS. This is expected to arrive at a similar time to Epic Mickey 2, which is in development at Spector’s Junction Point and UK studio Blitz Games.

A release date for the sequel has not yet been announced.
