Zelda Wind Waker HD to release two weeks early via digital

Nintendo clearly wants consumers to buy a digital version of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD.

Having just confirmed an October 4th release date for the Wii U title in the US – which is the same as Europe, incidentally – Nintendo has now revealed that the game will be available to download on the Nintendo eShop from September 20th.

Furthermore, it will also be cheaper to download too. A digital copy costs $49.99, which is around $10 less than punters will need to fork out for the physical copy in the traditionally less competitive US market.

There’s no word yet on whether European Wii U owners can expect the same treatment.

UPDATE:Videogamer reports that there will be no early download for the game in the UK.
