Consumers critical of NIS America’s European store pricing

Disgaea and Persona publisher NIS America has opened a new European online store.

Great news, right? Wrong. Consumer feedback on the company’s Facebook page suggests people are less than happy with the proposed pricing.

The new outlet offers Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited Limited Edition on Vita for 49.99, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Limited Edition on Vita for 59.99 and Fairy Fencer F: Limited Edition on PS3 for 69.99.

The problem is that the same products can be had on the American store for $49.99/29, $59.99/34.99 and $74.99/43.75 respectively.

There was also criticism for the fact the pre-orders have to be paid for at the moment the order is placed and not when the product becomes available.

In truth though niche physical game releases will inevitably increase in price as the industry increasingly shifts to digital – although that of course in no way justifies the price discrepancies.
