Court dismisses DJ Hero lawsuit

Just days after it emerged that Scratch: Ultimate DJ developer Genius Productions had filed a lawsuit against Activision regarding its upcoming DJ Hero, a court has dismissed the allegations.

The LA Superior Court found that there was no evidence of wrongdoing” relating to Activision’s purchase of former Scratch: Ultimate DJ developer 7 Studios, dismissing Genius’ demands for a return of assets.

These allegations are nothing more than an attempt by Genius to place blame for the game’s delay, as well as to divert attention from the cash flow, liquidity and revenue challenges Genius detailed in its SEC filing,” an Activision statement read.

By their own admission in October 2008, the game had fallen behind in production, which was well before Activision had any involvement with Genius, Numark or 7 Studios regarding the game.”
