Cowen: Destiny could outsell COD, Battlefield: Hardline pre-orders in line with Medal of Honor: Warfighter

Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed, Halo – all will be outsold by Bungie’s Destiny this year, according to Cowen Research analyst Doug Creutz.

VentureBeat reports that the company’s data on game pre-orders points to sales of between 10-15m units this year – which by implication means that either a fantastic attach rate amongst PS4 and Xbox One owners is predicted and/or ongoing strong sales of both systems.

Creutz added that Destiny has the highest ‘Ordometer’ score it has awarded to any game for the past four years.

The news will certainly be music to the ears of Activision, which needs the game to post a superb performance to recoup the astromocial investment it has made in the IP.

Faring less well is Battlefield: Hardline, however, which manages just 13th in Creutz’s Ordometer Top 20 and is tracking well behind both Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 and roughly falling in line with the ill-fated Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
