CryEngine monthly subscription now available on Steam

The subscription model of Crytek’s CryEngine is now available to purchase on Steam, the digital distributor has announced.

Access is available in three different subscription tiers:

• $9.90 USD/EUR per month (1 month)
• $9.00 USD/EUR per month (3 months)
• $8.33 USD/EUR per month (6 months)

Crytek revealed plans for its engine’s subscription option back in March, explaining that subscribers gain full access to all CRYENGINE tools and documentation – though not the source code, which still will require a professional development license.

As the company previously stated, no royalties will be taken on commercial products created using the service.
