Cryptic uncovers, details 2010 accounts breach

Cryptic Studios has discovered and reported to its users a 2010 security breach of its servers/databases.

The company uncovered the breach while attempting to enhance their current security. The unauthorized intruder(s) gained access to account names and encrypted passwords.

They also believe other items including player names, birth dates and partial credit card details were accessible to the culprit, but there was no evidence that any of it was actually taken.

The company states they are continuing to monitor the situation and ask its users to follow suit.

Cryptic handles titles Star Trek Online and Champions Online, and is currently working on the Neverwinter MMO.
