Destiny will not be released in 2013

Bungie’s first post-Halo project, Destiny, will not be released in 2013.

That’s according to publisher Activision, which issued the clarification after 48 hours of very successful marketing activity was instigated across media outlets online.

"Activision reiterated that although Bungie’s amazing new world was revealed today, Activision has not included the launch in its 2013 outlook and there should be no speculation or expectation of a different result,” a press release read.

The immediate question that presents itself is what this might mean for a current-gen release.

Destiny is currently scheduled for a release on Xbox 360, PS3 and future console platforms”. But with the PS4 and Xbox 720 likely to both be on the market before the end of the year, will the appetite remain for our current machines into the New Year?
