Diablo 3 headed to PS3, PS4

Blizzard’s Chris Metzen made a surprise on-stage appearance at Sony’s PlayStation 4 reveal event.

Metzen announced that his company and Sony had entered into a strategic partnership to bring Blizzard games to PlayStation consoles, and the first game to do so will be Diablo 3.

Diablo 3 will be available on both PS3 and PS4, with the controls and interface optimised for the console controller.

"All of the upgrades we’ve made to the PC version since launch will be included. On top of that, we’re completely redeveloping the interface, controls, and camera so that the traditional Diablo hack-and-slash, loot-collecting, dungeon-crawl feels natural and fun with a controller in your hands,"Blizzard co-founder Frank Pearce said in a post on the PlayStation Blog.

Metzen also announced that the console version of Diablo 3 will include a four-player same-screen co-op mode.

Blizzard is set to show off the console version of Diablo 3 for the first time at PAX East in the US next month.
