Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition allows for cross-platform save porting

Blizzard has revealed that those who have already played Diablo III on their last gen machines will be able to continue their games on PS4 or Xbox One.

The clever part though is that unlike other titles, players will be free to port their progress across platforms – so PS3 to Xbox One or Xbox 360 to PS4.

In some instances it’s as simple as choosing the ‘Export Save’ option in the old game and then simply logging in on your new machine. Other times a visit to Battle.net on a browser will be required.

All the assorted requirements are detailed here.

The important part is that the following save exports are supported:

PS3 > Xbox One
Xbox 360 > PS4
PS3 > PS4
Xbox 360 > Xbox One

Whereas these are not:

Xbox 360 > PS3
PS3 > Xbox 360
PS4 > Xbox One
Xbox One > PS4

Note to that those upgrading from the standard edition of Diablo III to the Ultimate Evil Edition on the same platform will see the new game automatically recognise their old saves.
