Disney Infinity reaches 3m units sold

Disney Infinity has moved 3m starter packs since its launch, Disney Interactive has announced.

President of Disney Interactive Jimmy Pitaro revealed the figure to the New York Times, following the game’s inclusion in the latest NPD monthly report.

We’re thrilled that families and gamers alike have embraced Disney Infinity,” Pitaro said.We believe we’ve set the stage for Infinity to be an enduring video game platform.”

Polygon notes the game has recently gone toe-to-toe with video game plus toy competitor Skylanders Swap Force. The two titles moved 551,000 and 597,000 units respectively in December.

Prior to that, Infinity guided Disney Interactive to a strong finish in its Q4 2013. The studio posted a year-over increase of 107 per cent for the period.
