Double Fine announces Trenched

Double Fine has lifted the lid on its newest XBLA project: Trenched.

The game was revealed the game during the Game Developers’ Choice Awards by notable developer the studio’s boss Tim Schafer, who leads the team behind recent downloadable hits such as Stacking and Costume Quest.

In Trenched, players fight to against the invading Monovision forces as part of the Mobile Trench Brigade. A teaser trailer and initial screenshots show gamers controlling massive customisable battle mechs in a variety of exotic and alien environments.

Tim Schafer described the title as extremely, extremely manly”, according to Joystiq.

Trenched will be published by Microsoft Game Studios and released on Xbox Live Arcade.
